SNAPPERON / LEGAL
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
Your screenshots belong on your Mac.
Here is what happens to your information.
1. Who we are
Snapperon and snapperon.com are provided by Dmitry Volokhov, based in Georgia (the country) (“we,” “us”). This policy covers the app, website, and information you send us for support. Contact: Snapperon support
2. The app processes screenshots locally
Snapperon captures the screen area or display you choose after macOS grants Screen Recording permission. Capture, annotation, and image composition happen on your Mac. The app does not automatically send screenshots or their contents to us, run analytics or advertising trackers, or use a developer-operated crash-reporting service. You do not need a Snapperon account.
The most recent capture and annotations are held in memory while the app runs. A successful new capture replaces the previous one; quitting releases that memory. Preferences, annotation defaults, and the Free capture allowance are stored locally. The app may write technical messages, such as image dimensions, timings, or errors, to macOS system logs; we do not automatically receive those logs. Apple may separately process diagnostics according to your settings and its policies.
3. Copies you save, copy, drag, or share
Saving writes a PNG to the location you choose. Copying places it on the macOS clipboard. Dragging and sharing provide the image to the destination you select and may create a temporary PNG on your Mac. Temporary exports older than 24 hours are eligible for deletion when Snapperon next launches; deletion is not guaranteed within 24 hours.
Saved files, clipboard contents, backups, and copies held by other apps have their own lifetimes. Universal Clipboard, cloud-synced folders, and third-party apps may transfer them according to your settings. Snapperon does not control or delete those copies. Review an image before sharing it and remove sensitive content yourself.
4. Purchases are handled by Apple
Apple processes Pro subscriptions and payments. Snapperon uses Apple’s StoreKit framework to read and verify subscription entitlements and enable paid features on your Mac. We do not receive your payment-card details through the app. Apple may provide sales, subscription, or diagnostic reports through its developer services. Apple’s handling of your Apple account, billing, and any data it collects is covered by Apple’s App Store privacy notice.
5. Website traffic
The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Delivering and protecting it requires processing ordinary request information, which may include your IP address, requested URL, request time, browser/device information, and security events. Cloudflare may process or retain that information under its service settings and privacy policy, including in countries outside your own.
We do not add advertising trackers, marketing cookies, third-party fonts, or visitor analytics scripts to this website. Cloudflare may use necessary security cookies if its protections require them. Links to Apple and other external websites follow those providers’ policies.
6. Information you send us
If you contact us, we receive your email address and the message, attachments, or diagnostics you choose to send. We use them to respond, troubleshoot, maintain the app, and handle related legal obligations. Please omit passwords, payment details, and private screenshot content that we do not need.
We retain support correspondence and related records only as long as reasonably needed for these purposes, including resolving disputes and meeting legal requirements. Email and hosting providers may process information on our behalf, including outside your country. We may disclose relevant records when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights, prevent abuse, or complete a business transfer subject to applicable privacy protections. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
7. Your choices and rights
You can revoke screen capture permission in System Settings, quit the app to release the current in-memory capture, delete files you saved, clear or replace your clipboard, and manage backups or synced copies through their respective services. Local preferences can be reset by removing Snapperon’s app-container preferences. Removing the app does not necessarily remove every saved file or local preference, and does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of personal information we hold, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, and complain to your local privacy regulator. Send requests to Snapperon support. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where the law permits or requires it. We cannot access screenshots that remain solely on your Mac.
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on providing requested support, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the website and business, legal obligations, or consent where required. We use reasonable safeguards for information we handle, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app or our practices change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice or request consent when legally required. A policy update does not itself authorize a new use of your information where consent is required.
